CHSFL Players of the Week: Week 1 – 2012

The following football players earned CHSFL Player of the Week honors for Week 1:

Mario Biaggi, QB, Iona Prep

Biaggi had full command of his offense in a 38-12 non-league Iona Prep win over Poly Prep. The senior quarterback was efficient in both the pass and rushing game, completing 10 of 16 passes for 97 yards while rushing the ball 24 times and compiling 163 yards on the ground for two touchdowns.

Ryan Alexander, TE, Holy Trinity

The junior tight end had 11 catches for 140 yards and 3 touchdowns in Holy Trinity’s dramatic come-from-behind, 42-41 victory over St. Francis of Buffalo this past weekend. In a fourth quarter in which the Titans were down by 35 points, Alexander pulled in touchdown catches of 10 and 34 yards respectively to give Holy Trinity the victory.

Jordan Franklin, RB-LB, Holy Cross

Franklin, a 5-foot-9 195-pound junior from Holy Cross High School scored two touchdowns in the Knights’ come-from-behind victory over Kingston. The second of his two touchdowns came on a 35-yard run in the fourth quarter, which eventually was the winning score. Franklin also had six tackles and a sack on the defensive end.
