CHSFL Players of the Week: Week 8 – 2012

The following football players earned CHSFL Player of the Week honors for Week 8:

Frank Calcutta, RB, St. Joseph-by-the-Sea

Calcutta ran for 151 yards on 17 carries by breaking numberous tackles and scoring two touchdowns in a 34-14 win over Holy Trinity. His success came despite injuries to himself and his teammates that caused him to change positions.

Kahiel Collier, LB/RB, Cardinal Hayes

Collier, the senior running back for Cardinal Hayes in its 40-14 win pver Cardinal Spellman. The standout senior notched three touchdowns on runs of 65, 15, and 20 yards respectfully. He also compiled 12 tackles and had a fumble recovery.

Ryan BurnettHB, Archbishop Stepinac

Burnett ran 16 times for 185 yards and scored a touchdown in Stepinac’s victory over Monsignor Farrell. The 5-7, 190 pound halfback improved his numbers to  148 carries and 973 yards with 6 touchdowns on the season.

James Coleman, RB/QB/DB, Christ the King

Colman did it all for the Royals in Christ the King’s Class A semifinal contest, carrying the ball 20 times for 104 yards. He compiled two touchdowns – one on the ground and the other coming on a touchdown reception. He also notched 8 tackles, with 3 assists and an interception.

Dante Aiken, RB/LB, Bishop Ford

The Bishop Ford star running back carried the ball 15 times for 176 yards and scored three touchdowns in the Falcons’ 38-0 semi-final victory over Cardinal Spellman.
