CHSFL Players of the Week: Week 5 – 2013

The following players earned Player of the Week honors from Week 5 action of CSHFL football:

James McHale, Sr. QB, Fordham Prep

In a losing effort against Cardinal Hayes, McHale, a senior quarterback completed 26 of 42 passes for 303 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground he also acculumated 24 yards rushing. He achieved all-conference honors as a junior who also plays basketball.

James Esposito, Jr. QB, Bishop Ford

Esposito, a 6-foot-1 junior competed 16 of 26 passes for 278 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead Bishop Ford to a 42-26 win over Kellenberg. Two of his touchdowns were thrown to Rodney Gonzalez, while the other came to Quamari McAllister. Esposito leads the CHSFL with 10 touchdown passes and is second in passing yards with 976.

Tyrrell Halliman, Sr. WR/DB, Mount St. Michael

The senior WR/DB was instrumental in Mount St. Michael’s 24-13 win over Xaverian. Halliman had three interceptions including one that stopped a Xaverian drive and one that led to Mount’s go-ahead score. Also the starting goaltender on the Mount Lacrosse team, Halliman has accumulated five interceptions this year.

Robert Bambil, Sr. OLB, Archbishop Stepinac

Bambil played a key role as Stepinac defeated Monsignor Farrell for the first itme in its school history, 28-6. The senior outside linebacker recorded 13 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in the Crusaders victory. Those numbers add to his 46 tackles on the season.

Shakur “Speedy” Bay, Jr. QB, Nazareth

Bay passed for 160 yards and completed 12 of 27 passes with a touchdown and a two-point conversion. One the ground “Speedy” rushed for 180 yards on 15 carries with another touchdown in Nazareth’s loss to St. Francis.
