Dan Negron (Archbishop Stepinac – Jr./ILB): On Saturday Dan Negron led Crusaders to a 56-0 shutout of previously undefeated St Peters. Dan recorded 10 solo tackles and assisted on 8. Dan also returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown.
Qaaddir Shepard (Iona Prep – Sr./R/LB): Qaaddir Shepard’s 12 catches kept the pressure on as Iona defeated the defending champions, St. Anthony’s. Shepard’s catches accumulated 153 yards and two touchdowns.
Edwin Pizarro (St. John the Baptist – Sr./QB / DB): Edwin Pizarro was 7/10 for 78 yards passing with 1 touchdown and rushed the ball 10 times for 95 yards. Edwin was a huge part of St. John’s offense in its 21-14 win over Xavier. Edwin had key runs resulting in first downs toward the end of the game and was efficient with his passes completing 70%. On the defensive side of the ball Pizarro had 6 tackles and added a key interception to stop a Xavier drive later in the game.
