The CHSFL mourns the passing of Mr. Vincent O’Connor. For the past 61 years Coach O’Connor has been a model Catholic educator who has graced the sidelines of the CHSFL since its inception in 1954. He not only brought out the athletic abilities in his students but he forged a devout Catholic identity in the young men entrusted to him for generations. As the Dean of the coaches of the CHSFL Coach O’Connor, by his presence alone, helped to cultivate the comradery and mutual respect that is part of the fabric of the league. His past leadership and service to the CHSFL helped guide the league from its inception to the present. His humor, knowledge, love of the game, devotion to the young men who passed through the league and his gentile guidance will be missed. The legacy Coach O’Connor gently forged will continue to grace and bless the CHSFL. The CHSFL joins the O’Connor family and the St Francis community in praying that God will embrace our Catholic brother Vincent O’Connor and welcome him into his eternal reward.
