St. Anthony’s & Holy Cross JV B Teams Named Stenger Award Recipients

St. Anthony’s and Holy Cross JV B teams were named the recipients of the Bob Stenger Memorial Sportsmanship Award.  The award is named in honor of the long time freshman football coach at St. Francis Prep High School who passed away in 2005.  The award was first given in 2006 and has recognized one freshman, and now JV B,  team from the city and Long Island that exemplifies to the values of the NYCHSFL.  The award is selected by Metropolitan Football Association for the city and by the Intercounty Association of Football Officials for the Long Island recipient.

Team captains and the coaches for both teams will receive the award at the NYCHSFL Championship Awards Breakfast at Kellenberg High School on Sunday, December 6th.   Tickets are required.  Tickets are $15.00 and will be sold through member schools.  Parents, coaches and players are required to have a ticket for admission.  Tickets will not be sold at the door.  Mass is held prior to the start of the awards ceremony at 9:30 am.
