CHSFL Players of the Week: Week 6 – 2012
The following football players earned CHSFL Player of the Week honors for Week 6: Christian Turri, RB/DB, St. John the Baptist Turri, the Cougars running back/defensive back, excelled on both sides of the ball in a 36-14 win over Christ the King. The 5-10, 170 pound senior rushed for 154 yards on seven carries while scoring two touchdowns on the offensive side of things, while on defense Turri had seven tackles (4 solo, 3 assisted) and notched two interceptions in the victory. Glen Kartalis, WR/CB, St. Peter’s Kartalis, a 5-foot-10, 145-pound senior wide receiver shined for the Eagles despite his team falling 27-26 to Cardinal Hayes. The Staten Island-native had 4 rushes for 56 yards, 5 receptions for 122 yards and 1 touchdown, good for 178 all-purpose yards.
