The following football players earned CHSFL Player of the Week honors for Week 4:
Pete Mokwuah, DL, St. Joseph-by-the-Sea
Mokwuah, a 6-foot-4 300-pound defensive end was a defensive force for St. Joseph-by-the-Sea in Sea’s 22-14 victory over Mount St. Michael. The standout junior record seven tackles in the win, including four that resulted in negative yardage for the opposition.
Brett Bracco, RB, Monsignor Farrell
Monsignor Farrell has something special in Brett Bracco. Just a week removed for a 99-yard, 2 TD performance against Holy Trinity, the senior running back upped his game by rushing for 145 yards on 21 carries and scoring 3 TDs against Kellenberg in the Lions 35-12 victory on Sunday.
William Solomon, FS/RB, Xavier
Solomon carried the bulk of Xavier’s rushing game, carrying the ball 30 times for 289 yards and scoring 4 TDs. The junior running back also exceled in the option by throwing for a 42-yard touchdown pass. On the defensive side of the ball, he along with the rest of the Xavier defense held Cardinal Hayes to just 8 yards rushing in Xavier’s 41-14 win.
