CHSFL Players of the Week: Week 9 – 2012
The following football players earned CHSFL Player of the Week honors for the first week’s CHSFL playoff action: Chris Cooper, WR, Iona Prep: Iona Prep’s senior wide receiver caught eight passes for 179 yards and scored four touchdowns as the second-seeded Gaels cruised to an impressive 41-20 win over Xaverian in the CHFL ‘AAA’ Division quarterfinals. Cooper and his Iona Prep squad will face off with the third-ranked Chaminade Flyers in the semifinals. Jackson Moses, DT, St. John the Baptist: The Cougars 6-foot-2, 249-pound defensive tackle shined on the defensive side of the ball with 9 tackles – 4 unassisted and two of them accounted for negative yardage. Moses also had two sacks, a fumble recovery and an interception return for a 60 yard touchdown in SJB’s convincing 62-7 victory over Holy Trinity.
