The following football players earned CHSFL Player of the Week honors for Week 2:
Joe Sotomayor, LB, St. Anthony’s
The Friars senior captain played what his coaches saiad was his best game of his two-year career. Sotomayor registered 11 tackles and four for a loss against Holy Trinity.
Brandon Coleman, QB, Stepinac
Coleman, a 5-foot-10 160-pound quarterback led the Crusaders offense to a big day over Xavier. He went 13-for-14 in completed passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-3 win over the Knights.
Lawson Prendergast. RB/LB, St. John the Baptist
Prendergast was proficient on both sides of the ball in St. John the Baptist’s Week 2 win over Xaverian. On offense he had 6 carries for 123 yards and two touchdowns, while on defense he registered seven tackels, one sack and one interception.
Rob Speranza, RB, Chaminade
Speranza spurred Chaminade to a 22-7 win over Iona Prep. He had 16 carries for 160 yards and 3 receptions for 24 yards.
