Iona Prep had lost the week before to archrival Stepinac in a game the Gaels seemed to run out of steam in, but after reviewing their tape and scouting the Friars, Iona Prep felt it would perform well in the crucial CHSFL battle. Players of the Week – Week #5

Steven Viegas (Monsignor Farrell – Jr./RB) – Steven Viegas kept the Lions in the battle with the Titans of Holy Trinity by rushing  for 246 yards on 34 carries.  Viegas’  2 touchdowns proved critical to the Lions last second win. Tyquell Fields (Stepinac – Jr./QB) – Tyquell Fields scored 1 rushing and threw 3 touchdown passes in a comeback win over rival Iona Prep. Rory Allen (Fordham Prep – Jr./RB/QB) – With the starting QB out of the game Rory Allen steped in and led Fordham Prep past Nazareth 42-21.   Allen rushed for 115 yards on 11 carries and scored 3 touchdowns. Roberto Nunez (Cardinal Hayes – Sr./QB) –  Roberto Nunez threw for 257 yards and 2 touchdowns.  He was 13 for 20 in Hayes 36-23 win over St. Joseph by the Sea.

Stepinac Honors Joseph Riverso at Homecoming
