Statement for Michael O’Donnell, Athletic Director Archbishop Stepinac: Sullivan, T. Joseph, age 91, of Carmel, NY, formerly of Hawthorne, NY, died July 30, 2015 in Montrose, NY.Joe was born on March 8, 1924 in Providence, RI to John and Mary (McKenna) Sullivan. He was one of seven children. He attended LaSalle Academy in Providence, received a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a Masters from the University of Bridgeport. He proudly served in the Navy during WWII. Joe was previously deceased by Bernadette O’Brien, the love of his life, who he married in 1951 in White Plains, NY. Coach Sullivan began his career at Archbishop Stepinac High School in 1949. Over the years he coached several sports but football was his greatest passion. He also held the positions of Athletic Director and Head of the Physical Education Department. He retired in 1987 after 38 years at the school. It was
