JV AAA & AA FINALS SET

The 2023 AAA and AA JV championship matchups are set.

AAA top seed Archbishop Stepinac (9-0) advanced  to the AAA final by defeating fourth seeded St. Anthony’s (6-4) 29-12.  Second seed Monsignor Farrell (8-1) shutout third seed Cardinal Hayes (6-4) 27-0 to reach the AAA final.

The AAA Championship title game will be played next Saturday, November 18th at Archbishop Stepinac, kicking off is 10:00 am.  Both teams will be vying for the John Marchassalla Trophy which is awarded to the CHSFL JV AAA League Champion.  Stepinac defeated Farrell back on September 9th 6-0.  Monsignor Farrell will be looking to win back to back titles and claim its 8th JV League Championship.  Archbishop Stepinac will look for its third title having previously won the championship in 2019 and 2021.

The top two JV AA seeds, (1) Xavier and (2) St. Francis, will square off next Saturday at the Aviator Sports Complex.  Kickoff is scheduled for 10:00 am.   On Friday night Xavier (8-2) outlasted fifth seed St. Joseph by the Sea (4-5) 25-20 to advance to the championship.  St. Francis (8-2) defeated third seed St. Peter’s (5-4) 30-21.  The Championship game will be a rematch of the October 14th matchup which was won by Xavier 20-18.
