Disregard an earlier report of the demise of the Pilots. Cardinal Spellman is very much alive in the A Championship hunt! Spellman advanced to its second straight appearance in the A championship game. Spellman lost last year in the A final to Xaverian but was able to avenge that loss with a 28-20 win over the Clippers last night. The Pilots last won the A title in 2008.
Cardinal Spellman will play Moore Catholic who survived a late surge by Kennedy Catholic to secure its advancement to the A championship. The Championship game will be played next Saturday, November 19th at the Mitchel Athletic Complex, Uniondale, LI. Game time has not been finalized. Tickets may be purchased for $7.00 in advance at participating schools or at the gate for $10.00.
