Next Saturday, November 21st the CHSFL of Metropolitain New York will host three championship games.  The schedule for the championship games is as follows; A Championship at Mitchel Athletic Complex (11:00 AM) – (1) Xaverian v. Cardinal Spellman Returns to A Championship Game

By Kevin A’Hearn; Cardinal Spellman defeated St. Dominic to advance to the CHSFL A title game for the first time since 2008.  The second seeded Pilots defeated the third seeded Bayhawks 30-6.  The win sets up a third meeting between Spellman and Xaverian this year.  Spellman will look to reverse the results of its first two meeting and capture its third A title in school history. The A Championship game will start at 11:00 am this Saturday, November 21st at the Mitchel Athletic Complex.  Tickets for the game may be purchased at Cardinal Spellman and Xaverian in advance for $7.00 or at the gate for $10.00.

IONA – STEPINAC WINNER WILL ADVANCE TO FIRST EVER CHSAA TITLE GAME

As if a league title and bragging rights to the rivalry weren’t enough!   The Iona – Stepinac showdown takes on the added significance of determining the NYCHSFL representative in the inaugural CHSAA Football State Championship game.   The CHSAA Football State Championship game will be the first of what is hoped to be an annual clash between the NYCHSFL and its counterparts from Buffalo.  The State Championship game will be played on Sunday, December  7th (2:00 pm) at Mitchel Field in Uniondale.    Tickets will be sold through the league representative, Iona or Stepinac, and at the gate for $5.00.

Finally healthy, Xaverian is getting hot leading up to playoffs

From Brooklyn Daily Eagle: In recent weeks it has been a challenge for the Xaverian football team to even field a team. While the team has 32 players when everyone is healthy, only 25 players dressed against Fordham Prep late last month, again decreasing to 15 players two weeks ago against Kennedy Catholic. Luckily, the Clippers got some of their injured players back in time for its matchup against Nazareth.
