The following football players earned CHSFL Player of the Week honors for Week 4:
Rodney Gonzalez, Sr., SB, Bishop Ford
Gonzalez, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound senior caught six passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Not only did the Bishop Ford slot back excel in receiving yards, he also accumulated 50 yards on the ground on ten carries. Through four games Gonzalez has compiled 360 receiving yards and 190 yards on the ground.
Shaka Shomari, Jr., RB, Holy Trinity
Shomari exploded on the scene at Mitchel Field during a 41-19 Week 4 win over Kellenberg Memorial. The dynamic running back rushed for 144 yards on 13 carries and notched three touchdowns in the win. In the three games prior, Shomari rushed for -10 yards on 7 carries.
Jack Fowler, Jr. LB, Chaminade
Fowler, the junior linebacker from Chaminade accumulated 15 total tackles – 12 solo and 3 assisted – in a 29-8 win over Mount St. Michael.
Michael Hartgrove, Sr. WB. St. Francis Prep
The St. Francis Prep senior wide receiver had two receptions for 64 yards, including a 30-yard reception in a 40-32 win over St. Joseph by the Sea. In addition he had a 76-yard kickoff return to start the second half to help aid the Terriers towards the win column.
Osaze Perry-Porter, Sr., DE-TE, Stepinac
Perry-Porter scored two touchdowns in a 42-7 win over St. John thte Baptist. The first came on a 50-yard reception whwere he lept over an opponent and hurdled him to give Stepinac a 14-7 lead. His second came on a 40-yard fumble return for a score. On the defensive side of the ball Perry-Porter had five tackles.
