The following players earned Player of the Week honors from Week 9 action:
Christopher Monfre, LB/FB, Jr., Holy Cross – Monfre caught an 85-yard touchdown pass and also rushed three times for 31 yards in a win over Kellenberg. 22 of those 31 yards came on Holy Cross’ game-clinching final drive. On defense, Monfre made nine tackles.
Jonathan Joseph, CB, Sr., St. Francis Prep – In the Terriers’ 49-32 vs. Bishop Ford on Saturday, “JJ” had four tackles and three interceptions, with the last one going for a 97-yard return for a touchdown. It was only JJ’s second game back after missing five weeks with a broken collarbone.
Brian Harris, C/DE, Sr. Archbishop Stepinac – Harris, a three-year starter and two-year captain for the Crusaders, never came off the field in an important 28-14 win over St. Joseph by-the-Sea, which moved Stepinac into the No. 4 seed in the AAA playoffs with a 6-3 record. Harris made the line calls for an offense that piled up 300 yards and three touchdowns, while also anchoring a defensive line that slowed down St. Joe’s powerful running attack.
