Beginning with our 2022 Nassau/Suffolk & NYCHSFL Football Preview LIVE Shows, fans can purchase the app at www.varsitymediapass.com for access to live shows, podcasts, game highlights, player interviews, Top 10 Plays of the Week and more! The Varsity Media Pass App is available on iOS and Android devices and can be accessed on a computer or tablet as well. The two shows will be live 8/22 8PM (Nassau/Suffolk) and 8/30 7:30PM (NYCHSFL). The shows will feature interviews with coaches and players along with highlights from 2021 and pre-season Top 10 rankings. The CHSFL mourns the passing of Frederick “Freddy” Gallagher Jr. Freddy was a member of the FDNY starting with Engine #290 and retired with Ladder Company #103. Freddy coached at St. Anthony’s for over 30 years and was the offensive coordinator for 13 CHSFL Championship Teams, including an incredible 7 in a row from 2001-2007. He passed away on Tuesday, March 1 as a result of an WTC related illness he contracted while working the pile in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. Information regarding services can be found here
The CHSFL mourns the passing of Fr. Philip K. Eichner, S.M. Fr. Philip served as the President of the CHSFL and Chairman of the Principal’s Council for many decades until his retirement in 2018. Under his guidance the CHSFL navigated expansion and the ever evolving quest to represent the needs and competitive interests of all its member schools. He was a champion of football as a way to engage young men and to instill discipline rooted in the Catholic faith. Fr. Philip was ordained in 1966 and served as the President of Chaminade (1967-1992), Kellenberg (1987-2018) and served as the Provincial of the Province of Meribah (1984-1992). His guidance and leadership will be greatly missed.
