Flyers Repeat as AA-I Champions

IT’S A REPEAT IN MINEOLA!!! By Matt Diano: In the clash of defending titlists, it was the young gentlemen in the Red & Gold jerseys [Chaminade] turning in a dominant performance on both sides of the ball to ensure that the AA-1 crown will stay another year on Long Island!!! The top-seeded Flyers closed out the 2021 fall campaign with a 7-3 record as they knocked off reigning AA-2 kings, Moore Catholic, 43-7 in the middle game of our NYCHSFL championship triple-header at the Mitchel Athletic Complex! Holy Trinity Completes Perfect Season

By Matt Diano: THERE IS PERFECTION IN HICKSVILLE!! 10-0!!!! For the first time since 2008, the top-seeded Titans of Holy Trinity High School are celebrating an NYCHSFL crown following a 21-10 triumph over #2 St. John the Baptist. A Saturday matinee contest that was a polar opposite of the initial meeting (October 3rd) between the two Long Island based schools, where the Titans jumped out to a four-touchdown lead in the 1st half and then never looked back (won 45-21), the Kahmal Roy coached squad did not enjoy their first lead of the day until approximately the midway point of the 4th quarter (6:19 remaining in regulation). By Matt Diano: John Caufield (Jr.); QB/Punter/DB – Monsignor Farrell Bestowed with the most flattering of praise from the Lion coaching staff following a 24-21 victory in the semifinals against Archbishop Stepinac, the 6’1 175-pound, junior hailing from Staten Island [Caufield was so perfectly described as “having his fingerprint all over the victory” this past Saturday evening.
