The word “boring” never to be found in his personal dictionary; the 5’11, 155-pounder would be directly responsible for scoring three touchdowns in two different manners to increase his TD total this season to eight!! XAVIER POWERS PAST ST. PETER’S, STORMS INTO CHSFL AA I FINAL

The Knights of Xavier (9–2) powered their way into their first CHSFL AA I championship game since 2018. Leaning on their trademark, disciplined offense, the Knights methodically pulled away from No. 4 St. Peter’s (6–5) in a 30–13 semifinal victory. The win sets up a showdown with top-seeded St. Joseph by the Sea. Xavier is seeking its first AA I title since 2015, having last captured a league crown in 2019 when it won the AA II championship.

IONA BACK IN THE CHSFL TITLE GAME

Iona has imposed its will once again, earning a spot in the CHSFL title game for the fifth consecutive year. The Gaels (9–1) are aiming to become the first repeat champions since Archbishop Stepinac’s 2017–2018 back-to-back titles. There’s also a measure of revenge on the line. Today’s 42–0 victory over the St. Anthony’s Friars (7–5) sets up a rematch with top-seeded Monsignor Farrell (9-1), the only team to defeat Iona this season—a 28–21 setback on October 17.  The winner will advance to the CHSAA Football State Championship game on Saturday, November 29th in Buffalo.

Redemption vs. Repeat: Holy Cross and Xaverian Back in the AA II Final

Top-seeded Holy Cross and No. 2 Xaverian have been on a collision course all season, setting up a highly anticipated rematch of last year’s AA II championship game. The Crusaders (7–4) punched their ticket to the final with a gritty 14–8 overtime victory over No. 4 Christ the King. The Clippers (5–4) earned their spot by defeating No. 3 Holy Trinity, 33–20. Now, in a repeat of last year’s AA II title matchup, Holy Cross will look to avenge the 14–6 heartbreak they suffered at the hands of Xaverian one season ago.

Kellenberg Outlasts St. Joseph’s to Claim JV AA Championship

Kellenberg held on to capture its first JV AA title since 2016, outlasting St. Joseph’s 21–14 despite a furious Vikings comeback. The fifth-seeded Firebirds faced a challenging postseason road, defeating No. 4 Xavier and top-seeded Xaverian before traveling to Staten Island to take down #3 St. Joseph’s in the championship. Kellenberg finishes the season at 7–4, while St. Joseph’s closes at 6–5.

Unstoppable Iona Takes 2025 CHSFL JV League Crown

The Iona Prep JV defeated No. 3–ranked Monsignor Farrell 42–6 to secure the 2025 John Marchassalla Award, presented annually to the CHSFL JV league champion. The JV Gaels completed a perfect 9–0 season, earning their first JV title since 2018. Dominant throughout the postseason, Iona outscored its two playoff opponents 77–13 on its path to the championship.

TOP SEED MONSIGNOR FARRELL ADVANCES TO CHSFL AAA CHAMPIONSHIP

The Lions have roared their way back into the CHSFL title game for the first time since 2021. The five-time league champions are seeking their first CHSFL crown since 2000. Farrell (9–1) dominated its semifinal matchup against Chaminade, earning a 34–3 victory. The Flyers close out the 2025 season with a 7–5 record. Farrell will face the winner of tomorrow’s Iona Prep vs. St. Anthony’s semifinal.  CHAMPIONSHIP GAME & TICKET PURCHASING INFO Championship game details are still to be announced. Tickets for all championship games will be available through Hometown Ticketing beginning Sunday. Pre-game tickets are $12, while tickets purchased on site the day of the championship are $15. Only Hometown tickets and tickets purchased at the box office on game day will be accepted for entry.
